Why the hate on Manny?

I always pulled for the dude, but there were two things that always bugged me. His teeth and Famous Stars and Straps. Famous is and was the corniest clothing company ever. And the teeth, his insistence of smiling like a fuckin stunad in every photo was like Brayden thinking he looked badass with the tongue thing.

My board hit me in the face a few years ago when i pussied out and took my front foot off learning back tails. Broke my nose, stitches under my eye and fractured my facial bone. The fractures led to ortheodontal tumors that forced me to have teeth removed. I have had two surgeries, bone grafts, partial dentures. Still need to get permanent implants put in. A lot of the time I was forced to live with the missing teeth and it was awful. It gives you a lisp and makes eating difficult. Having that experience made his adoption of the goofball look unforgivable.

The fucking stupid missing tooth, wack sponsors, many skateboarders are generally averse to any pros who try to build a personal brand/influencer kind of presence.

I am from Puerto Rico and i hear some really fuck up and shady story about Manny and hes not that nice at all .The only good thing that Manny did for the island is the Prince of Puerto rico contest that is our Tampa am

Seems to have carved out his own lane in skateboarding despite the hate, gotta respect that, but he is a tough dude to watch on a skateboard, also his relationship with that girl seems very brother sister to me….nothing wrong with being best friends with your sig, but somehow seems creepy with him iono

Kinda picked up on that too, and he's like a decade older.

That aside, I don't mind him.  His style isn't for me but whatever, he's not actively harmful.  It was kind of funny when Sean Pablo roasted him during his rapid fire section of The Bunt.

I find it strange that some people, no matter what they do on a board will always be hated on: Manny Santiago is the epitome of this problem. Had someone like suicu or tj did half the tricks in his most recent part accolades would have been abundant, but not for Manny. Is it his style?  Teeth?  Or something else?

Had someone that fans think is cool that has good trick selection done these heinous tricks the reception would certainly be different, wouldn't it?

That is legit one of my biggest fears skating, I think I'd rather break an arm or whatever than deal with that.

It's only the real insecure loosers on here that constantly need to bring others down that constantly say they hate him.

He seems like a good guy by all accounts and he gives back to the kids and skateboarding.

I've meet Manny a couple time since I have family in Lowell, dude is super nice.  Maybe it's because he is back in Mass so he can't play up a persona as some people are alluding to.  Keep in mind I don't like his trick selection and I am still stuck in the 2010s wearing skinny jeans, Manny never even blinked an eye to talk about skating.

His whole demeanor changed when he came to NJ for a street league.
Manny wasn't skating his best and a few kids were calling him 'Manatee Asiago' the whole time which kept annoying him.
I thought it was pretty funny.
