truE true, I have a hard time with the constent plug youtubers do, it's like the merch, the sub, the like, the patreon. And the fact that he is not funny does not help.

BUT amazing move, he made a lot of people happy and supported the shop so that's all good. Seeing someone giving a brand new board or complete to a kid will always make me emotional aha

Gifted Hater did a video recently saying how these type of personalities are on the decline. Their view counts are way down. Even kids are starting to realize long term that this stuff is corny and fake. He could have just bought the stuff with the camera off, there is no need to show all that, you really just need to show the shop you got it from to shout them out cause that is really what you are doing here by choosing to include that in your edit. do as much as you can in montage to encapsulate what this shop is all about in the timespan you have. then show the gifting at the skatepark. it is a bit lame that he has to show everyone how amazing he is that he donates boards but if thats what it takes for people to do charity then i guess i cant be mad.

I work in marketing and have a healthy hate for YTers and TikTokers and wannabe influencers. But there are times when I can get down with some of their shit. This being one of them.

Is it narcissistic? Yes. But I'd rather see them do this shit and benefit the community (e.g. giving aways boards, feeding the homeless, etc.) rather than just do pranks and shit that is SOLELY benefits themselves.

And those kids getting a free complete and shit has to be the best feeling ever.

I would have maybe figured out a way to spread more love instead of just giving one dude a huge stack of decks. Giving the kids just sitting around completes was cool though. This could have turned out way more cringy than it was.

The whole shop had 24k (retail) in inventory? Insane. How often do they have to turn over to make a profit (rent, employees, taxes, insurance, advertising, etc.)? Support your local skateshop...

This. The Youtuber format is slightly obnoxious and repetitive at this point but this is a genuinely thoughtful and well executed effort.

$24K in just board inventory - boards, bearings, etc. And it doesn't look like they cleared the case.

There's also their soft goods and accessory stock.
