lately my bearings have been slipping out of my wheels making them tight and roll slow. everything im skating ive been skating for years and never had a problem with. i cant seem to find the culprit. this isnt what axle slippage does is it?

the bearing seats are too wide so the bearing doesn't stay in place in the wheel. when I skated Spitfires that happened to me on almost every set I bought.

While we're on the topic of spacers, how many people here use them? I recently bought my first pair of swiss which had spacers, I didn't use them, though.

try them with tighten nuts and tell us the difference...

spacers didnt do shit so i took them out. then i decided to get creative and shove some paper between bearing and wheel and its working so far

i got a krooked price point deck that was apparently an 8.5, but when i got home i measured it and its only an 8. It had the "8.50" sticker on the bottom thats on all of the deluxe boards, so i thought it would be correct. i'm going to be in san francisco on tuesday, would i be able to exchange it at the dlx distribution place?

The DLX dudes are super cool so yeah, I wouldn't doubt it.

Their stickers are sometimes a bit off. My 31.3" long deck is longer than my 31.5, 31.63, and 32.25 roger. Time to start busting out my measuring tape again.
Mandatory before I select a board. I like to know the true length, width, wheel base, nose/tail length and the amount of kick the nose and tail have as well. It's a little overboard, but I'd rather know A board is right for me, than wasting money on a board with weird dimensions.

gutterhead.

I've heard so many different things on this topic and I want a straight answer. Are thunder 149's and indy 149's the same? I know indy 149's are for 8.25-8.5, and so I went to the shop to up my indy size from 139 to 149, but when I got there the shop only had one indy 149, like literally one truck, wtf. But I saw the thunder 149 lights and bought them instead. I then saw the thunder site and for 149's they say they are for boards 8 and up. Is it 149mm like indy's, or is thunder regular and likes to lie about truck size? Why can't all truck companies go by the same units of measurements. Sorry for the rant

Yes, I usually wear a 13 in vans, and I bought a pair of gravis filter duros in a 13 and they fit very close to the same.

What trucks beside ventures would you recommend somebody who rides tight trucks (in the 90s people would have said I ride lose trucks, but nowadays everybody is shocked how tight they are)?

I would like to have a second pair cause the wheelbase thing with ventures kind of limits my board choice too much and I have some decks here with longer wheelbase and a few steeper decks that are probably not best ridden on high ventures.

Well either. I think aces are a bit less stable. But I guess it can depend on how hard the bushings are

Problem is there’s no hard ace bushings in Europe and ace wants 60 $ for shipping some bushings 🤦🏻‍♂️

Personally I think Ace's can be more stable in certain situations, but Aces were designed to be a really carvy truck and they flourish when you can experience that. Indy's obviously can be very surfy as well but in my experience tend to be more stable on center than Ace so I would then assume that they could fare better with firmer bushings or torqued a bit. Indy firm bushings are quite firm whereas the consensus with Ace firm bushings seems to be that they are not that different.

Honestly you can torque anything to be pretty tight and not wheelbite with the right bushings. Even if you like your trucks tight I'd focus more on where you might want the turn and stability.

I feel like you can still make any truck turn more easily or a lot stiffer / tight truck feel with a good quality set of bushings, not always related to the brand of the truck either, eg you don't need to get Ace bushings to have Ace trucks work well.

That said, I feel like some bushings are a lot better than others, just with how they wear in and how long they last too, so I guess it is just down to whatever you have available to you in your given area to try some and see what works for you.

Some people just try to tighten normal bushings down too much, which doesn't really get the desired result most of the time and can often cause the bushings to split or cause other issues for the trucks, but at the end of the day, what someone says works for them, as in the perfect combo, might not work for others.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.
