They are both choices by the editor to include that shit and both are to build narratives.   The homie-splosion is to emphasis the crew-ness of it all, the runaway skating is to show what a little shred doggy he is that nothing can stop him, not even the camera frame.   

If TFunk was the first part to use it, it wouldn’t be contrived, but it’s become a bit of a trope lately, sorta like the obligatory hill bomb at the end of an SF part.   Fun for you to do on your board, I personally don’t need to watch it

Of course they’re both choices by the editor but one showcases the skater naturally engaging in the most fundamental act of street skateboarding, and the other is, well…contrived as fuck.

You know how sometimes you're trying a trick and you tell yourself "two more tries cause I gotta be somewhere" and then that turns into five minutes and ten minutes and then you kinda realize what's happening but you're getting really close to the make and then you get a call and you have to be like "Tammy, i know your friends are arriving soon but I'll be there soon" and you try once of twice more and then get a text like "I know things have been busy down at the factory and you havent had time to skate this week and this is the only day you can but you said you'd get the garlic for the shrimp scampi on the way home and my friends are here and they only have the babysitter for so long" and then someone wants to talk about your shoes and if the toecap is an impediment to your flick and you try twice more and finally land the trick more out of spite then accomplishment then have to bust your ass to get to the grocery store then home to shower and look presentable for Tammy's friends who you don't really like but the dude who works at the auto place is kinda cool and always keeps you updated about wrestling news so that's something you kinda look forward to and why is there so much traffic today?!?!
