Whiplash and skateboarding
« on: January 23, 2024, 08:23:18 PM »
I’ve been dealing with whiplash for about a year now and long story short I’m learning that I probably gotta stop skateboarding for a while to let it heal. Even the smallest slams (hitting a rock and flying off board) agitate the shit out of my neck. Any one else here have had to deal with whiplash before and any tips for getting past it? I don’t skate mini ramps or any of that so I don’t have vert whiplash either tho just learned that even doing a kickflip involves the neck muscles a lot and agitates after a while

You need to get yourself some of this magical Slam-In-A-Can stuff from this other thread.

yup smacked my dome december last year, banana peeled into a bank switch

took a solid month for shit to feel normal

i will say from my experience- the more i tried to fuck with it, like crack or stretch or whatever, the worse it felt

just let it heal naturally with normal range of movement and youll be gucci

Definitely go not skating with some whiplash or any kind of head injury. consequential injury can be much worse - and you don’t gave the brain the needed time to heal.
All the micro injuries are worse then one big hit / which is properly healed. Read about football and boxing brain damaged.
