Idk man, she's sponsored by the biggest bank and telecom provider in brazil? The grown up people approaching her for a picture don't look like skaters/skate fans to me.

Aurelien is also a small scale superstar in france, tv and newspaper appearances, as is Yuto in Japan. In the netherlands during the Olympics i even saw a lot of commercials featuring Roos, Keet and Candy.

Fame has different scales and works very differently outside the US

She's probably raking in a brazillion dollars

Just want to add that she has 6.6 million followers on instagram. Tony Hawk about 9 million and I don’t think there are other skaters reaching these numbers. With the Olympics coming she could gain even more popularity. She has a bright future ahead for sure.

Brazil is massive and she's huge in Brazil - everyone knows who she is here. You know how people in the US mention Tony Hawk when you say that you skate? I feel like people here ask if you know about Rayssa.

Must be crazy as a parent for your kid to blow up from skateboarding like that at such a young age. She seems sick though and like she's handling things well with some solid support behind her. Stoke for Rayssa.

It seems like she has her head on her shoulders and her priorities straight, especially for someone her age. It was an interesting and entertaining watch. The only thing that bothered me was that weird fat skate dad in Cariuma's catching his helmeted son trying to boardslide the Hollywood 12. That whole interaction was so depressing for some reason.
