Weight distribution for Camera Rigs
« on: May 15, 2024, 01:29:03 PM »
Has anyone come up with a decent solution for their rig that balances the weight to the back a bit more? I'm talking about handheld fisheye line filming. I have a pretty front-heavy lens and I've been brainstorming a way to attach some BS to the back of my cage that will balance things out. Seems like the Memory Screen dude in that Pocket "Followed" episode had it figured out with his GH4 rig.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

He has an eazy handle. This guy remakes them and is the only way to get one unless one pops up on ebay.

What cage are you using?

You can keep the handle position of the rig and add mass so that the center of gravity ends up below your handle. You have balanced the rig and increased the weight. Or you can change the handle position so that it ends up above the center of gravity of the camera. That way you balance the rig without adding mass.
