Wow this is really sick. Blender's backside ollies! Also, never really rated Rob Roskopp, but the nollie pop-in on that Losi stall was way ahead of his time. On a 4-inch nose as well! Bit cringe when they go in the shop and the filmer changes his accent for the Asian guy, yikes.

Also how sick was Sadlands? So amazing, wish more weird moonscape stuff was built like that. Psyched this footage is to there now for everyone to see in raw format, great exporting settings too.

Yeah the ‘Asian’ mocking accent was fucked but the naivety of youth and the 80s...

And seeing that sadland footage is the first time ive really got a sense of what it was really like. Such a rad, weird spot.

Finally got to watch this. Claar was so fucking good. Neil's backside ollies were incredible. I loved this so much.

Looking forward to figuring out what trucks Neil is skating in this. I figure Trackers but he's ridden or at least big upped a bunch of brands over the years.

I think he's wearing and Indy shirt....and g&s made trucks at the time.....great question...

When he skated trackers it was sixtracks which are like an 8.75" axle with a 6" (152mm) hanger. In the same interview he talked about having Ace 44s on his one setup, and then he has posted pics of his non-polarizer with 55s on his Insta. I have been thinking about Neil Blender's trucks way too much lately.

Those are so cool to see pop up. Had completely forgotten how insane Sadlands looked, all those unedited lines there looked so natural to him even though the terrain itself looks fucked, quick and steep. At one point I cracked up out of compassion for the filmer trying to fisheye follow through and around those pillars and craters on those super narrow paths (on a set-up from that time period too), must have been a trip.

Sadlands was the first place I sort of "travelled" to as a kid from Long Beach.  Like hopping on a bus and heading out of our little zone around here at around 15 years old or so.  It was amazing to skate, so damn hard but also so much fun.  I wish it would have been around when I got more competent at skating but I was stoked to have skated it when I did.

Are you telling me Blender skates Ace 55s right now?

That settles my, "What trucks for my next set-up?" internal debate.

I'm no Blender however I just set up some Ace 55's a month or so ago and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

55s are great. Old post but he has posted pics of them on his full-sized boards since:
