Watching the Credits
« on: February 12, 2026, 11:35:35 AM »
I always try to watch the credits all the way through

It gives me a rare chance to meditate, reflect on what I just watched.

Even if I didn't like the thing I watched, I can think about it for a few minutes.

Also gives me a chance to appreciate all the work that went into it, all the people who's names are there for like one split second but they were part of the whole project being what it was

And even might find out about Jake the janitor or what's a gaffer or something like that.

And if the movie is real good and the music in the credits is real good (Magnolia and the latest PTA come to mind, obviously Lynch) then it's just part of the escape and the magic and how could you ever turn it off before the credits fully roll.  Mouse also comes to mind.

Any body else have strong feelings about watching the credits?

I liked the credits of The Simpsons Halloween episodes.  They were always fun.

If you didn’t watch the credits after a Jackie Chan movie, then you missed the best part.

Also, the Between Two Ferns movie credits were better than the whole movie.

Not Always but it was often tradition when seeing something with fam.
Let some of the crowd bustle out before making our exit.
I like to spot folk's nicknames in quotes as well as look for uncommon or just funny names.
Stingers are a fun thing to look up while you're sitting there if you suspect there could be one.
Meditating in the music is great and I loved Marty Supreme for that too.
Sometimes you see the names of babies born during the film making, that's nice.
and there's some suspense when you're waiting for a character name to scroll up and ohh that's who that was!

Production babies are typically an animated movie thing I’ve noticed.  Probably because it’s a 2-3 year period people are together

Oh man you just opened up some nostalgia for me.  As kids, we would aways rent Jackie Chan movies from Blockbuster, and the credits were definitely our favourite part.  Seeing him do the stunts, and then the funny outtakes and bloopers.  Great movies.

I saw "Hellboy II" in theaters when it came out. It was ok, kind of a let down from part 1, imo.

But the thing I remember most was this guy in the front row who got up and started clapping all through the credits rolling.
"Was just about to say, wtf is up with this EdLawndale guy?"

OVER ACTOR!!!

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

i always tripped on the purple rain credits having a blue background. edit: in case someone thinks the background is purple (which it kind of does look almost sort of lavenderishly does in this youtube clip) it's not purple, it's blue. Very strange.

Superbad had funny end credits.

Sometimes the best part of a Community or Rick And Morty episode is the post credits tag.
