ill rotate between running and strength training, im usually around 5-6 miles and 2-3 times a week.
it can be hard on your body so don't over do it like i did, now i cant do anything til i heal.

i definitely don't want to over do it, at the moment i'm only doing a mile a day just to get used to it. i'll to step up the distance in small increments and probably cut it back to 3 times a week in a while.

i ride my bike or skateboard to school so i dont feel bad about not getting enough exercise.  i ran for a couple of months while but it just got so hot its regular.  and when it gets cold, i hate that feeling in my lungs.  i figure my knees will get messed up enough from skateboarding that running would just be a bad idea.

why waste your time running, why not just go skating?

I used to jog sometimes when I was a chubby young man. If you want excersize, riding a bike works much better and isn't as hard on your body.

sometimes it's easier to run for 20 minutes in the morning than it is to go skate. i still skate when i can but my metabolism isn't what it used to be.

Because of efficiency.  Cycling takes about 3x as long as running to get a comparable work out.  20mins running = 1 hour cycling (unless you're just rinding up hill the whole time).  I agree running can be tough on the body, especially if you're heavy.

I run... from the police!  ;D

Nah, just playin' around. I don't like to walk or run, my legs don't enjoy that type of shit. Besides, I get enough exercise.

I dunno I kind of enjoy it sometimes.
Afterwards I feel exhausted and satisfied.
After you reach the late 20's and your metabolisim slows then you'll realize all those years of eating like shit has taught you nothing and you then have a belly.

I used to run 3 miles without stopping everyday. Then I got injured, stopped for 2 months and I just recently tried it again and it's like a whole new body. I have to stop every mile and my head hurts.

i am going running in about ten minutes. i prefer to run at night when nobody can see me so i don't have to deal with people staring at me. a combination of running, skating all day, and no soda made me lose about 40 pounds in two months. that is probably not healthy but i feel and physically look better

I went running two times this summer... I wanted to get in better shape or whatever, but I just can't make myself do it all the time... I should probably do it at least once a week, because I kinda enjoy it... and
i prefer to run at night when nobody can see me so i don't have to deal with people staring at me.

just be careful mike.
you may be losing way more muscle mass than fat and if you fall back into your old ways you will not only gain the weight back but more.
im not saying become a muscle head but some minimal resistance training will help you lose more weight and keep it off.

yeah dude!

I used to but it hurt my legs too much. As lame as it sort of is, I have an eliptical machine and it's way better for me.

i know, that is what happened to me a few years ago. i lost a crazy amount of weight by sitting on the computer for three weeks, then when winter came around and i was able to skate again i somehow gained all the weight back. i do some situps, i lift small weights, and i do a lot of calf lifts. i also changed my diet for the better too, instead of three meals a day i eat 4-6 small meals instead. i have cut soda completely out and candy is almost completely out(though i stopped for a while after my root canal, i eventually went back)
