I have no advice to give, but pick the best seat in your house and start a new ass-groove. See how deep you can go.

made me laugh because last time I was unemployeed we had just got a new couch and my wife claims I ruined it with some ass groves
My roommate got a couch from his grandmothers house when she died that was over twenty years old. It took my ass five months to blow it out. I reinforced it with an old skateboard and we moved the couch to the other side of the room. It just doesn't sit the same and I am currently working on a new grove.

The best thing to do while unemployed is find another job.

i already have a job lined up, but this was already obvious.

no need to bring to the vibe of the thread down, man.

sell drugs, when you bring in more in one day than you did in two weeks of work you'll want to be 'unemployed' for life

Tomorrow's my first day at what will be a brutal, yet hopefully short-term, job.  Just getting off 2 and a half weeks of being unemployed.      I'd take the weekends off, and on weekdays I'd sleep in till around 11, lurk the job websites, maybe inquiry to one or two by email, or go hand out a couple resumes.  Then I'd call it a day between 2 and 4 and go skate the park for a couple hours, coming home and chilling hard.

It's tough finding a job when you don't have any really good references, just outdated ones that may not even be giving you a good word, or when your resume is full of two month job stints.  I like to live easy and free but I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and choose a career soon.. I can't keep going from shit job to shit job forever.  But yeah, there's no better feeling that being unemployed and knowing you can afford not to work for awhile.

well fortunatley i got 1 year and some change experience working on diesel trucks and trailers, the vp of the company really liked me for some reason. so i got a good referance, and a couple other one from teachers and older freinds (in their 30s, not some punk kid like me) so i should be able to find a job asap. ive got an interview on thursday, hopefully things go okay. if not, im not worried. karma owes me some. i should be alright.

Ok, well if you actually moved out of your parents house then maybe being unemployed would actually matter.

I'm about to be fired cause I openly complain about the bullshit prep cook/future km that dumps all the shit he doesn't wanna do on me, cause the owner loves his drunk-on-the-job, company thieving, lazy, slow, split 3 hours early cause he's on salary, dick-headed ass.

Or so I've been told.

But I've also been told to expect "employee of the year" from another dude who's source is equally relaible.

who knows.

If unemployment is seriously 300/week I'd be breaking even with what I make working. :'(

Unemployment veries from state to state I believe, but in MIchigan it goes by your quarterly earnings. If you get fired and have been there long enough, you can collect, but not if you quit.

In Texas, the amount of money you get is proportional to your salary and max's out at about 350 a week.

Also, you can still get unemployment if you get fired depending on how it went down (again in Texas)
