I didn't like it. It came across as extremely pointless.

I watched this tonight and for anyone who has struggled or watched someone struggle with mental illness, it's a must see. Ok, now back to making fun of each other and puppies!

I thought it was an interesting concept when I saw the trailer however long ago that was. When I watched it though, there's really nowhere to go with it. They stake out the bridge, and like they say/partially show in the trailer, people die on camera. Even getting to know the people a bit, it's pretty much useless capitalization off of suicide footage.

I just watched the trailer, and for the people that have seen it: does the filmer just film people jumping? Or does he/she try to intervein at all?

thats pretty crazy to think about, the idea that the guy shrugged it off by saying it happens all the time is pretty inhumane and just like idk the detachment from the scenario was really saddening.

As soon as they see someone who looks like they're going to jump, they phone the bridge patrol or whatever it is and tip them off. They end up stopping a looot of them, but people keep coming back to try.
I was a little harsh on it the way I talked about it, it definitely gets a response out of you, it's just kind of insubstantial.

Well at least they were helping out, even though the whole concept makes me uneasy. The trailer made it really unclear about what their intention was.

I think the intention was pretty clear. It was a pretty thorough study of suicide, what leads up to it and the aftermath. What I found the most compelling was how a lot of the friends and family member's seemed to mention the person committing suicide being "free" or "happy". That's some crazy rationalization going on.
