Panasonic dvx 100a got fucked

Dropped my cam while filming a line. Camera turns on fine and everything else is good but when it has a tape in it displays:

Auto Off Cylinder lock.

Has anyone had a similar situation. After some quick googling i found out that something is probably messed up inside. My first taught is to go tapeless but im wondering would that ever work.

Any help is much appreciated this camera is very very important to me.

The firewire should still work. The camera doesn't need a tape inside to record to a firewire recorder!
