He was/is married to a white passing indigenous woman who was a treasurer or president of a BC Indigenous band/tribe.
She was doing some sketchy stuff possibly? He was involved in a skate contest called 7 nations and she was helping get them funding from my understanding she got called out for it.

Then he injected himself with drama between a skateshop who got Haslam to draw the front/side of their shop or skatepark for a board graphic. A graffiti artist called the shop and Haslam out for reproducing a mural/tag on the board graphic and not getting compensated.
