His guitars are so fucking heavy (I mean 'heavy' literally, not as the stupid slang word). R.I.P.

that's what gives them the les paul tone, it's a whole slab of wood.

Gotta respect and admire the man who invented the four track recorder.
At 94 he lived a long and full life. May he rest in peace...

Too bad he didn't molest any kids, then maybe more people would care if he died.

mines on the right with my old guitarist playing it. She's an old girl and has been a bit abused. (my guitarist had the twin vices of being a drunk and a deadbeat so he never had his own stuff)

I saw Les Paul play at the Blue Note in NYC in the late 80's. He was a rad Jazz guitarist. I brought my Les Paul to the show and he signed it for me. Rest in Peace.

not all of the LP models are heavy some of them have wieght relief chambers in the body. to me if a guitar is not at least slightly heavy it feels like a cheap toy, i love maple neck/maple body guitars, very heavy and bright sounding and it's better for a guitar to be bright and high up in the treble range beacause it's easier to get proper bass and mid effects out of an amp than it is to bring up the treble.

back on track, i was really bummed to hear about his death the other day, the guy was one of the best rythm guitarists ever in my opnion, he was also i great lead player and one of the pioneers of multi tracking and adding different layers and textures when recording guitar tracks.

R.I.P

my 62 LP (the real deal, not a re-issue)
