regular idiots that come into my work to apply for jobs

i realize i am not an expert at getting jobs i have only had a few in my life and i keep them for a very long time cause thats the kind of person i am... but wow some of these guys lately are just blowing it.

one guy came in and he said he was taking the bus all over town handing out resumes to every single place he could possibly find... not smart. makes you look desperate as hell. and at the end he had to add in a second time that he had been taking the bus and he came a very long way to get there as to help his case.

another guy came in and his email address was "[email protected]" or something along those lines. instant phail.

this guy just came in now the reason i started the thread... he just parks his truck in front of the store like he owns the place, not in a parking space, and he just walks in and says "hey you guys need a driver" I said "oh that is actually my job... but we will be looking for someone soon. Do you have a resume?" and he said "well I have a drivers' abstract, isnt that all you need?". its like, im the one fucking doing the hiring here you idiot, i call the fucking shots not you. i explained to him there would be other duties besides driving, and he said "yeah i dont really want to do that, i just want to drive. im retired you know" and i said "ok well brnig your resume by and i'll let you know."

there was another guy a few weeks ago who wanted to work here too and he said "oh i know lots about parts. been in te business for 25 years." i was like "thats really good, that would be a huge asset here. You would just have to learn a computer program and you'd be good to go." and hes all like "no i dont use computers." and i was like "yeah you will have to for this job though. thats how we do inventory and billing." (remember - i work in Elmira, it is clsoe to a city of 500,000, but Elmira itself is full of inbred mennonites and has a population of less than 10,000) and he said "well i dont want to do any lifting either". and then it got real akwward and he left.

The guy catching the bus all over town to meet people and hand out CVs actually sounds like a pretty good hire. Then again, he's got some stiff competition from emopunk_69. Dude sounds like a real go-getter.

that was basically whhat it was like. he was talking down to me hardcore, and i was the one who determined whether he got hired or not. gate keeper to grim reaper on these fools.
