Tennessee/Kentucky folk

A buddy and I are thinking about taking a trip to the Nashville/Memphis/Franklin, TN area really soon.
Maybe a stop through Kentucky too.

Aside from the plaza in Franklin, is there anything else you recommend checking out?
Spots, parks, fun, good food, attractions?

Feel free to completely ignore this message, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
