I've spent a long time just lurking the forums and never posting. However, I met John Cardiel and Ray Barbee at the King Of Prussia mall near philly. I had John autograph my left leg, now its permanent. Having it filled in next week.

Ehh, I don't really mind if it's shitty. It's exactly how he signed it and thats how I wanted it. I'm happy with it, and in the end that's truly all that matters. Cardiel is an inspiration to all of us, we must never stop pushing, never stop moving. His style, his outlook, his power, everything about him should keep us all skating.

Cardiel isn't just a man, it's a way of life.

No doubt-just found it odd to get someone's autograph tattooed all big like that. It goes without saying the dude's an inspiration, so if anything at least it really means something to you.

so do you guys think I should get it filled in with just black ink, or do like a red, green, and yellow fade. I've also decided to have the Anti Hero eagle done on the other side of my leg to wrap around and tie-in with the autograph. Help me with some cool ideas!

leave it empty, get an entire skateboarding piece designed around it so it leaves a subtle cardiel autograph embedded in the negative space but is no longer just a giant signature on your leg /honest opinion

Yeah man. You should get an anti-hero/reggae themed piece all around it, would be much better then just a signature. Did you tell him you were going to get it tatooed or did you decide afterwards.

some kid rolling thru town from canada a few weeks ago had "WWCD?" on one of his wrists... he told me it stood for "what would cardiel do?"

and on the other wrist is just said "barge."

When I met him, I said "pick a spot on my body to get your autograph tattooed." Cards chose my left calf because thats the leg he has trouble with. He was totally hyped on it, which made me even more stoked to actually get it done. I def plan on doing more with it. It's kinda sick having your idol design a tattoo for you in a way. I think I'm going to go with what sirfinbar and ben ldl suggested. I emailed Cardiel and asked for his input too.
