PJ's been my fav skater since I saw his WHL part back in 2002. However you can't blame kids these days asking "why do ppl like PJ?", PJ now is a completely different person. It's like he lost interest in skateboarding after WHL. You can see him screaming and pointing fingers to cops, smiling while doing insane technical skating. Really Sorry and Boston Massacre are like the remains of that PJ from WHL.

he deffinatley hasnt lost interest in skateboarding, but he has lost his interest in professional skateboarding, like filming etc.

I think he misses the times when he could just skate for fun without hastle from filmers and photographers

 probably every pro skater will say they had way more fun skating back in the day then now. In WHL pj was what, flow sponsorship? maybe am for someone. But definatly had very little obligation to go out and film tricks. He was just a fucking skate rat skating 24 hours a day because he wanted to, not because someone was telling him to, and that shows in his whl part. Obviously then he blows up and hes riding for companies like plan b and dc, where your bound by contract to go out and film x number of ads per year and get y amount of footage or w.e, which obviously takes some of the fun aspect of skateboarding out of the equation. But you also cant look at one aspect of his whl part and say "wow look how much fun he was having" without looking at his whl bonuses where he rages like fuck.

 Just because his parts dont display as much emotion as his whl part, doesnt mean they arent there. Do you beam to all your friends and giggle with joy everytime you land a trick youve been trying for an hour? If you dont, doesnt mean you didnt have fun.

 That being said, pj ladd is one of the fucking best skateboarders to ever live, and i think the only people are hating on pj is just to try to spark some outrage from the slap community, guess it worked.

In deed. PJ definitely changed skateboarding. Maybe not everyone was around to witness that. It's easy to youtube a video part, completely out of the context of the times, and not quite get what an impact it had. Kind of like someone going back and watching Penny's part in Etnies High-5, or TSA's Life In The Fast Lane, and not quite understanding why they were so groundbreaking.

But hating on PJ? Please just stop.

If any of you were lucky enough to be one of the chosen ones, who are pro skateboarders (or can live off of what you are passionate about, for that matter), would you be one of those cornballs whose terrible "personality" draws more attention to you than your skating?

After his WHL part dropped - every fucker in my town was trying to add shifties to everything. PJ seemed to do them alright, but I hated kids trying fakie flips to kind-of-manual-reverts and calling them fakie flip shifty's. PJ is still sick.

exactly - and he isnt using his position as a major star within the industry to constantly put himself in your face. and he isnt doing stupid shit or pulling lifestyle hammers left and right. he's just chillin, enjoying the experience of living his dream. there is actually a pretty good amount of PJ footage out there - sure he's only had a couple major parts in his career - but he's obviously still killing it. his Plan B part is sure to be his best since WHL.. i dont doubt it one bit. and we all know that just about every single major shoe company has probably been in contact with him attempting to negotiate contracts.. to me adidas fits him..  i wouldnt be surprised if he was looking to get back on eS and is now rethinking that plan due to the current uncertainty with the brand.

I watched his part way before the internets.  The first time I watched PJLWHL off of my friend, Mas's, video camera because he videotaped the part off of his friend's TV...AND I WANTED HIM TO DUB A COMPLETE SHIT COPY OFF OF THAT BECAUSE HIS PART WAS THAT GOOD!
