Ethnic foods and food trucks
« on: June 06, 2014, 05:39:34 PM »
The last year foodtrucks have been popping up all over the place. Tons of thai street trucks, Indian, BBQ trucks, and sandwich spots. Living in a suburb this is very strange, some of them are pretty good, some not so much.

I like Donairs and cheap Indian food best. Mulligatawny and tikka chicken wrap for 7$ much better than McDonalds if you need a quick lunch. These places must be raking in the dough considering they're freakin everywhere now.

It's spelled "doener."  Technically, the "o" has an umlaut.

And it's pronounced "derner"

I think you're confusing it with "Dahmer."

The only time I had eaten from a food truck happened to be in Hawaii.

I took the bus early in the morning to the middle of goddamn nowhere to swim in the ocean away from the tourists and as I was walking back to the bus stop after I was done I stopped at this lonely looking food truck

Shit was awesome and cheap

Portland, Oregon has the best food trucks, blocks off them in different areas in the city.

They're taking out the OG pod of carts on 12th and Hawthorne to put up another bogus apartment building to accommodate more boring middle class chumps from various points of origin. Needless to say, I can hardly wait for the onslaught of lames. There are too many longboards as it is.

I'm done ranting. Portland is still tite.

Food carts are cool. It's a very low overhead way for people to start a small business.

Austin, Texas has some pretty awesome ones too.

Pittsburgh mostly blows it on the food trucks front but there is a line of authentic indian and thai trucks that I end up eating lunch at a few times a week
