HABITAT shoes
« on: August 22, 2013, 06:59:08 AM »
How do these skate?

I never had HABITAT shoes before, but I saw a few pairs at our local skatehop that I really liked.
Owner hadnt skated them either so he couldnt tell me anything...

They looked good though, no frills, just a good looking skateshoe...

Anyone that already these?

How do they hold up?

Spent cash on these

I've had a few pairs of Habitat shoes, the Lark, Quest, and Adder models. All were exceptionally durable and had a nice insole. Really comfy and worth the money.

Agree completely with Morty.

I've skated the Ibex, Summit and Guru HI shoes and thought they were all great. All 3 are Vulc shoes, and I had no issues whatsoever with durability. Suede is tough, insoles are above average and the soles/outsoles lasted as long as you'd expect a vulc to last. Very good bang for your buck. I am also a huge fan of Habitat footwear's aesthetic.

I currently have a pair of Surrey and Garcia for just kicking around in. Just like Morty stated, all completely worth the money.

I have a pair of the Guru low cupsoles (his first model I think).  They are narrower than a typical shoe on my foot and are pretty stiff out of the box.  Took a while to break them in.  Haven't skated them yet.

I've skated the lark, expo, and I'm now skating the Garcia. I've been really into how low profile and durable the soles have been. Also the insole in the Garcia is awesome and a little better than the ones in the lark and expo. The only problem I've had is that the suede tends to tear pretty long before the sole is worn out.

They're great but aren't they going out of business?

I've never had a habitat shoe that didn't skate well. Guru, Getz, Lark, Quest, Surrey, and the Dover are all good shoes that are durable. The Garcia, Gillette, and expos skate amazingly but have only lasted me two weeks at most. Sadly, my gillettes ripped on first session but the insole is amazing. I put it in all my new shoes, even my emerica reynolds low that I'm wearing now. I have yet to ride any Ibex models but they look like they'd last like the guru.

I agree they skate well and have good boardfeel. But I think the insoles (even gillette's model) aren't that good. They're like too fat without giving that good impact protection. I've always used the ?s insoles or vans pro's. But i guess it's a matter of taste.

I wanted to like Habitat shoes, I really did.  I bought a pair of Kerry Getz and a pair of Austin Gillette's (online from zumies, I know, I'm sorry but they were on sale) and the quality was absolute shit.  You'd swear that the sole was made out of pencil eraser, especially on the Gillette's.  They also got floppy as shit really quickly.  They wore out way too quick. Also the sole on the Gillette's came off on one shoe a week in to skating them. I'd love for Habitat to right this but eh I have too many shoes as is.

TL;DR: OMG TOTES ADORBZ HABITAT BUT THEIR SHOEZ LEIK TOTES SUCK CRUSTY BUTTHOLE.  (sorry habitat ily)
