I agree, there's just something about her voice... Unfortunately, it's also that something that causes my friends to give me weird looks when I play her music.

soviet is amazing, the new one is a little more poppy.

also on the piano tip but slightly more depressing is emily haines' solo cd. really really really good.

plus shes hotter than vagina

i like the whole drumming-on-a-chair bit from song 2 on soviet...reminds me of xiu xiu.  i was transporting a vanload of youngins to skate spots and they all got pretty into it.

i get the same vibe when i play anthony & the johnsons in my car, home, etc
