trucks are shiddy(?)
« on: July 17, 2014, 12:03:35 PM »
hey i assume that if ur on slap that you are skating for the long haul.  So if you're going to being skating for a while, dont you think you could pay more than 49 dollars for trucks?  If we could shell out more money than it  could be viable to have a company sell percision cut metal trucks rather than crappy cast trucks which is what is standard.

So our regular ol' gravity cast aluminum trucks that last for years aren't good enough? They're shiddy(?) compared to what? The theoretical product you've imagined that doesn't exist yet?

yes  that is exactly what im proposing.    (wow do somthing different?) CAST METAL IS SHIT!! Its fukin the cheapest shit thats why trucks dont cost much.  Trucks dont fucking last me "years" indys break     Percision cut alunimum is stronger     cast metal is compleately prone to inperfection so each truck is different and dosn't have perfect geometry.  I have nevet tried anything other than cast trucks but I'd be stoked to be able to buy somthing actually pimp like a  percision cut aluminum indy or ace deluxe edition(?)

Be sure to let us all know when you've finished making your precision cut magic trucks.

its a cost verse performance thing. you could get the titanium axle less theeve's.. so there are those.
ceramic bearings are better then swiss. but not so much better to justify the cost
grooves in your trucks from grinding are useful.
even if you get Ti Indies every 6 months. its still a better deal then 1 pair of those top shelf theeve's.

there were also those G&S Chromoly trucks from the. late 80s?

well good luck with this.

precision cut would be pretty ill. then you don't have the threaded rod casted into the hanger. i'm fine with how trucks are though.

You can't compare something that exists to something that doesn't. I understand the process you are referring to, but that doesn't change the fact that they don't exist yet. Sure, they might be better THEORETICALLY, but that really doesn't mean shit. Oh and learn how to fucking spell. You sound like a moron.

I remember a rich long boarder kid from Manhattan come in to the local shop with his mom asking for some like $400 trucks that kinda sound like what you're talking about. I feel like if they exist, it's probably in the longboard/downhill domain.

I don't know anything about metal working but I think it's always good to see innovation in stuff. Complacency to the norm is what allows dumb/bad shit to happen in the world for the most part.
