Not a fan of thrasher but tws is too annoying with the underdog coverage, comes off as too try hard.

How does underdog coverage come off as too try hard?

Since this thread is about choosing either TWS or Theasher over the other and not about what your favorite mag is *ahem*  I'll pick TWS for being more interesting and overall less annoying.

thrasher's kinda like the skate newspaper. it doesnt necessarily have the best photos or most interesting articles/interviews, but it does give a good representation of whats currently popular in skating and they consistently print the gnarliest tricks. theyve done really well with their site as well. it seems like more than half of all skate video content comes from there, but again usually with some pretty forgettable edits.

i think transworld has done a pretty good job rebranding themselves by focusing on the smaller companies and lesser known skaters after realizing thrasher had them beat covering the bigger mainstream stuff. it's cool that transworld will put up parts from new videos, but i feel like they might as well post them on thrasher as theyd probably reach a wider audience.

skateboarder was cool. probably had the best photography and i enjoyed the skate nerd angle of their articles like the things you didnt know about ____ and the spreads where they had 2 homies doing a trick at the same spot. they also once printed a one(and a half?)page article of dyrdek telling a story of how they forgot berra at gas station/restaurant in the desert on the way to vegas and then something else happened there which made steve try to fight him and start crying. respect for that
