Is it common that it doesn't? i've only seen it once, where top was pink and bottom was purple, wasn't mad about that though, looked cool flipping the board over

I guess not but brands are getting wacky these days with split plies etc. as I said my (dipped) welcome had green bottom ply/ natural top ply combo which I thought was weird...

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

good to know. I don't mind it per se (and the dip let me have a nice griptape design), it was certainly cool the first few scratches I put on it ... glad it wasn't red though ;)

I prefer my top, middle, and bottom plys stained. I really don't care what the color is. I just need them stained.

If I get a board that doesn't have a top stain I'll spray the edge so there's color. I don't know why, but a natural top ply kills me.

I always set up a new board when I scrape through the middle ply so having it stained is lazy but nice.

The Pennswood and Northern Co stains I like.
Split veneers, especially on the bottom ply, seem like invitation for disaster. Places for that bottom play to catch, chip, delam? Or am I wrong.

What about those crazy vertical ply decks? No one sells them, even as some kinda special thing?

I always thought it was an excuse to glue excess scraps together and sell it as a novelty. I'm surprised to see split veneers return.

Exactly Chavo. Using shorts and fall offs is like using free veneers.

I've seen these around the place and it looks like a cool effect, not sure just how sturdy they would be for anyone looking for more than just a moving plank however

The ply color is directly related to what day of that week the bread was made.

Monday - Blue

Tuesday - Green

Thursday - Red

Friday - White

Saturday - Yellow

So now you don't have to smell or squeeze a deck to know how fresh the bread it's made of is.

I don't think so, I've been skating the new Busenitz Low ProII with the yellow and blue strips, a lot of board and nose slides & I haven't seen an issue yet. I was thinking the same thing when I first bought this deck, time will tell, but looks good now.
