Skating the Courthouse
« on: June 08, 2017, 12:11:08 AM »
Planning a quick trip to LA from the Bay Area from the first time in awhile. What is the scenario for skating the West LA courthouse?

Is it cool on weekends? Hoping to get in a session this weekend, but don't want to waste my time if it is going to be a bust.

Thanks in advance.

It's a fully legal spot....so game on.  Benches have been angle iron'd.....Stoner is quite close too.....

You can skate there whenever, it gets crowded sometimes so the earlier the better.

I'm usually there around 830/9 on Sundays

Really fun spot, although people don't like it for some reason.

Tons of ledges of all heights, the fountain has a small box ledge/manual pad, the stage, 4 up - 4 down, slappy curbs...

It's honestly one of the only places I skate now days because of work/life  ::)

Edit: As said above, you're good to skate here any time at all. It usually peaks around noon, but it's never really that crowded unless an event is happening.

I skate here all the time too..  If you ever see someone walking a cat, that's me.  The library is right next to it also, so washing up and using the bathroom is easy.  Great place.

aside from the stage, since it's a psuedo park does the footage "count" since Nike refurbished it. gets pretty dusty.

curious what the rep is like if suciu did a 15 trick line, how less respected would it be than a spot entirely NOT intended on skating. guess i answered my own question but you certainly don't see a lot of ledge skating there in someones street part.
