It isn't my favorite trick of his but his ollie over the rail to fs wallride on a brick wall in Baker 3 was such a departure from his norm, as well as a trick I hadn't really seen up to that point, that it's stuck in my mind. It still doesn't make sense to me 13 years later.

Thanks for sharing your skating with us, Drew. Happy 40!

15 year old me was obsessed with a few people. Jimi Hendrix and Andrew Reynolds were pretty high on the list. So yea, you could say This is Skateboarding did it for me.

Is it fucked up if Baker parts don’t make it into my top 3?  Obviously they are amazing and some of his best skating, but if we’re talking which parts I’ve watched the most times in my life I think it’d have to be The End, This Is Skateboarding and Stay Gold.

I also think This is Skateboarding might be the last VHS that VHS ERA bought. 2003? That was around when we switched to DVD right?

Menikmati was the first video available on DVD and This is Skateboarding or Mosaic (don’t remember which came out first?) was one of the last VHS tapes I purchased.

Edit: one of the last VHS tapes I purchased at a skateshop. Still have that VHS collecting bug!

The end is definitely still my favorite part and one of my favorite parts of all time in general. Didn't really enjoy or care about his skating during the baker era for some reason and then came back around when stay gold dropped. The end frontside flip is the favorite for sure too

What I find remarkable is that, according to Wikipedia, the average lifespan of a goat is 15 to 18 years. This goat is really something special!

Here’s a clip of me still trying to be Reynolds at age 30

How he filmed Stay Gold at this age and older is beyond me.

Let me preface this post with the fact that I am slightly inebriated, very uneducated and I havent read any papers or done any research at all, or read your post really.

1 baker2g
2 the end
3 this is skateboarding

(more indicative of me being in middle school or high school when they came out rather than their objective greatness)

huge shout out to using that entire roxy music song in baker 3. changing up the editing and saturation and shit for the middle section is one of the best moments of in-part editing in a big video part i can remember.

fuck it, that's probably his "best" one.

The GOAT indeed. To this day still very respectable and continues to skate. For me it was Stay Gold, the build up to the part, the song, the tricks, the OCD, the switch fs flip with the cig in his hand. To me it was one of THE perfect parts in all of skateboarding.

Reynolds is definitely one of my favorite skaters and human beings. The guy lived through a bunch of shit, skated his ass off and runs one of the most notorious/famous companies in skateboarding. You can't help but not like the guy.

Favorite frontside flips:

3. Hollywood High 16 over rail
2. Love Park Gap
1. Chicken Bone Nowison (before the picnic table fakie ollie)

Favorite parts:

Honorable mention: Chicken Bone Nowison
3. This is Skateboarding
2. Stay Gold
1. Baker 2G

It's crazy some of the clips that didn't make it into his Stay Gold part specifically the fence fs flip, triple set 360 flip and fakie flip switch manual. The finished product was perfection however so guess I shouldn't question the madness.

Edit: just watched the actual Stay Gold part and the fs flip over the fence is in there but only from a fisheye angle. The long lens in the b sides makes the spot look bigger and better shows how nice a fs flip it is.
