I can do em on parking blocks but I've never done one on a quarter pipe. I don't like fakie manuals, so I definitely don't want to do one going down transition which is basically what that trick forces you to do. I can't do pivot fakies for the same reason. Blunt 180 out either way is a million times more forgiving. Once you can do those you can basically do blunts on curbs too so I think they're more worthwhile to learn

Good thread. For me a straight blunt fakie isnt a common thing, however I can do a blunt-to-something and never miss a beat. A blunt-to-rock-to-fakie is super easy and natural to me. A blunt-to-pivot-to-normal-or-fakie is a thing I need to put a little effort and a clean rock fakie is a rare thing. I prefer to try noseblunt instead cause for some reason I can make those very very clean. So thats my two cents.

One day visiting a skatepark I got the balls and landed a few of them, totally thought I could bring them home. Hah!

I can do them grabbing the nose or mute or even indy, but without grabbing no way.

I had them for like 6 months no problem until that one fatal hang up and now I've got a bit of a mental block on them.

Learn pivot to fakie or 5-0 grinds to fakie, that will get you over the mental shit of pulling them in. It's basically just a pop then super quick fakie manual until your front trucks clear the coping.

I never found them to be too scary and I have never gotten hurt doing them. I have done them on steep banks and different (smaller) miniramp transitions. I have however never had them consistently. I always pop out and when I am not a hundred percent shure I will land them I will kick them away. The people I know who have them consistently sort of pop them into a fakie manual. That way they avoid hanging up. That doesn't work on steep transition though and you always have to commit. No kicking away with that technique.

What do you think of bluntslide to fakie in trannies? Who did the first one?

Anyone know what Aaron is up to? He used to skate the indoor when he was learning them and he would kinda only try it off on his own..like he's isn't want anyone else seeing it.

The Staab ones were crazy...he'd bounce around on the deck and then pull in, on a concrete vert bowl.

Rategui did them frontside grabbed on vert which was bonkers too...mute grab...it's a horrific looking trick.

Blunt fakie is a mind fuck....I've done them but will never have them.
