Every time I skate I end up doing something stupid and painful to my shins. I'm like a hundred years old (32). So now I'm taking action! Who's with me! (only allowed while wearing baggy pants so our shameful secret will be kept between us)

Shinners are not cripping injuries. Pads are only acceptable to prevent ankle, knee or wrist injuries however its not a good look to have more then one attatched at all times. You probably deserve the fucking shinners anyway.

i'm used to skate with mid-cut foam shin guards that protect ankles too, forgot them today and had a good session with no painfull hits

I’m with this guy , I can skate with a shinner or bruising half my body on a slam but my knee brace is necessary if I want to do more than slappies. Though I feel my other kneee starting to go so I might have to start running the double sleeves , under pants of course.

No shit, there was this dude from Visalia named Yvan who used to skate in a full on ninja suit with shin guards. Dude had a sword that he rolled with on his back while jamming his mountain bike around. He worked at Jack in the Box. He wanted to kill me when I was like 15 for bumming out his girlfriend and I was seriously worried. I think there was a photo of him in Paying in Pain forever ago.

When I was relearning miniramp, I got some of those Footprint shin protection socks. They have kind of thin foam to protect your shins and your ankle bumps. They worked pretty good, but wore out fast. I never bought another pair.

Go for it. One thing you’ll notice is that you will hit your shins less once you protect them. Happened to me when I started wearing a cup. Still wear it though.
