I'm glad they're adding more skating to their lineup, but I'd still like to see more, especially considering that Spike is running the channel. I'd like to see them premiering new skate videos and syndicating old ones.

I used to enjoy watching this until one of the challenges was to piss in a Burger King or gas station or whatever. You want to piss in jaws mouth while Andy Roy tongue punches phelper? I think my girlfriend secretly fantsizes about getting me on that show. Passed out to the first episode of the new season I ever saw last night. The whole thing has an uncomfortably contrived vibe to it. Like it might as well been “jewish eye for the broke guy” or “black eye for the unathletic guy” or some other playong up of a stereotype or something. I don’t know, I’m not gay so who am I to say what is or isn’t disrespectful to thay community...its just a bit awkward for me, almost comes off like gay minstrelsy

I think the original iteration maybe was that way, but that’s because it was safer and more acceptable for gay guys to be queeny like Jack on Will and Grace. On the new Queer Eye (no longer just for the straight guy), only one of the guys is sassy gay friend-ish and I think a lot of the times they act that way as an ice breaker for their subjects. It’s reality tv, so there’s obviously always something manufactured about it, but it’s ultimately a show about helping people be the best versions of themselves so I don’t have any real issues with the show even if I think Karamo is useless and Antoni is secretly straight and can’t cook

there are some rad moments like muska on a session with deathwish last year, but there’s also a lot of stupid filler shit like make out challenges and the weird shit/piss stuff. I could do without the reality show vibe but that’s exactly what kotr is now. last year’s did introduce me to the gnarliness of Kevin baekkel tho so that was cool.
