Just wrapping up a three week binge with my Gerwer egg. Loved it but I gotta admit I’m not too stoked on slick decks. At least the two or three I’ve skated in the last couple years. Aside from that I loved it. Mellow concave, not too flat which is great for me considering I have a flat foot. It’s kept it’s pop for the most part as well. Wouldn’t mind snagging another but I have my eye in that quasi shape. Any update on how that skated?

I have the quasi pool skate face. It’s a fun board, 360 flips and nollie flips are way easier on it. I skate mine with 5.8 ventures.
The tail is a little thicker than I like, I prefer the pointy.
I don’t skate it very often because I’ve decided that I’d rather just skate a much smaller setup. The wood was better felt better than some regular shaped quasi boards I’ve had, recently.

sorry to semi-necro this without a cooler post but i was chatting with friend this weekend and the kelch twister got brought up. is that shape rare or do other graphics get printed on it? i see boards posted that seem similar but the specs are just slightly different and i can't tell if that's just the variation of dimensions you end up with online or what. thanks, eggheads

Hardly a Necro.

The 8.75" Grimple egg is supposedly very similar, if not the same. Great shape, and the only board I've ever lost to the water in my life.

could be a typo, but I swear the flyer reissue had a 14.75 wb which is ridiculous if true. 13.75 would make sense however. Never skated one so take it with a grain

I forget where I saw that initially, but someone confirmed it was a typo. It's got a pretty normal 14.25" WB IIRC.

There seems like another flyer shape coming out soon enough too, can't remember which DLX brand or graphic, but was thinking that was pretty cool.

Re stock on symmetrical eggs
http://www.35thave.com/shop/Skate/Decks/Heroin/p/Heroin-Symmetrical-Egg-975-x-3225-x58274672.htm

Does the web store show actual inventory numbers, so there are ten of those in stock?

I see from some other boards there are three, or even one, so I am guessing it is not just an automated system that reduces the stock number once you go through checkout, the way some web stores show.

Awesome if you did get ten or more, seeing as that seems like a very popular board.

When I checked it showed 16 so I guess it's actual stock. Really good to see availability improving on these, at least in the US (it's not available in Europe). Hands down one of the best boards ever made, I reckon.

Copped the Quasi egg. Here's the detailed measurements for the culture
WIDTH: 9"
LENGTH: 31.75"
WB: 13.75"
WIDTH (FRONT TRUCK): 8.625"
WIDTH (BACK TRUCK): 8.5"
LENGTH (NOSE): 7.25"
LENGTH (TAIL): 6.875"

For my brother, off, the concave is steep, and it's got the mellowest tail and steepest nose that I've seen. Tail kinda seems like a craig board, but the nose is steeper than the hockey I'm riding right now. I think my fat ass just flattened that a little bit though.

159 equivalent trucks should fit perfectly

Quasi "Please go to Hell" egg
venture 6.1
spitfire classics 99a 56mm
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Just set up an Uma with almost the exact same specs on 149s and some 54 conical fulls and it's pretty perfect actually. The axels feel almost flush with the board but the tail and nose to taper sharply at that point I personally wouldn't like a wider truck

That board really reminds me of 1992 (my fave), I just can't handle trucks sticking out lol.
Pretty sure I had 159s in 1992 though

That Quasi Egg has got to be the tiniest feeling 9 ever. The taper makes it feel almost like an 8.5 if you can believe, it looks so dainty in person.

Have any of you tried that Magenta small egg, the Jameel Douglas 8.25 guest board? I got one and it's pretty fun. I wouldn't go skating anywhere with it but it's great for fucking about on curbs, ledges, manual pads and flatground. Skating it on 144s, wondering if I should try it on 139s. Both work I reckon.

139s looked like the move, could go even smaller tbh. Looked like a good egg for boomer, and others such as myself, that skate the smaller stuff

I skated mine with 5.8s. Little bit of magic carpet upfront, but I’d rather that then go the other way. I also don’t really like skating with truck bigger than 8.5 (8” if I’m being totally honest). So take my shit with a grain of salt. Imma big truck hater (can’t skate em)

Set up a freshie a little early cuz all the black Friday spends are hitting the porch.

Grimple 9.1" gerwer egg
Film 6.0s
F4 conicals 52/101
Swiss 6s
Single slappy hour swizzle stick
7/8 hardware

Been skating 9" eggs pretty heavy for the last year or so. They all seem to come in around 8.5/8.6 at the trucks. I've always set up 8.75 trucks (cuz thats what I skate on an 8.5/8.6 pop) and loved it.
