Is Sean Pablo your favorite skater ? Im just trying to understand why technically advanced tricks are boring ? Is watching a bunch of kids in high water pants and supreme shirts doing the same 3 tricks (slappie, wallride, no comply) seems pretty fucking boring to me.

Personally I prefer to watch do skaters do tricks that have been invented in the last decade, but hey thats just me.

O'Neill, Nijah and co are obviously super talented but I think where people get bored of their tech tricks because often time they look robotic. I get that's just because these guys are crazy talented and calculated but sometimes imperfection and uniqueness are more eye catching than tricks that are flawless.

Usually when people say "yawn" to things like this, it has very little to do with the tricks being done and more to do with personality of the skater showing in their skating (and otherwise), the videos they've been in, creativity, and if their tricks/spots are relatable and/or cool etc.  This is why you hear so many people say "style matters."  These guys are all great skateboarders in terms of ability but to a lot of people they aren't all that interesting.  Their tricks are hard but did it look good? How much thought went into that line or the spot they're at in relation to how it look in a photo or a video?  Above all else, there's room for everything these days.  We're not all into the same shit even if Slap sometimes seems like an echo chamber.

It will be interesting to see if that happens. Part of me feels like it would be hard to leave Primitive. I am sure they are raking in the money from the DBZ and Rick and Morty collabs. But seeing as there is no mention of Shane leaving the company from Prod when he was on the Nine Club last, there might be some animosity there, maybe more people will split.

He released a statement on his Instagram thanking Shane for everything. But it wasn’t on nine club must not have happened !!

hmm wall space is finite so curious about the reception to a bunch of 'tv skaters'. talent-wise primitive wants to be crail but lacks charisma (for the most part), this list seems to suggest that but like, twice removed

agree some of them can't seem to get on real teams but it's a talented, productive bunch (to coin a phrase). might as well get all them instagram/contest dudes with languishing board sponsors together. and i do and don't know who the audience is for this – sls/mall/mainstream/parents, right? and that's all fine tbh

but wall space is finite. if only a few brands make real money from just board sales, maybe it's a clubhouse move where you join forces and hope a logo (eg indy, spitfire), slogan (dgk), product (weed socks), or collab (dragonball z) hits and everyone cashes in. shane is saying they have both the leverage & positioning to try so it's worth a shot

speaking of crail why don't they consider distributing brands again when they pop up from established names, a la baker boys (shane used to be on 4star right?). gotta be tough to jump start something without the infrastructure no matter how big your name/recognition is
