Gonzo porn is for sure shot with a fisheye. There was a pretty dramatic shift thanks to the VX also being the default porn filming camera. Most porn was shot pretty much the same way Menikmati was minus the 16mm b-roll. In porn, the gear has updated but mostly the gonzo filming style has stuck around.

This is not the first time I have tripped out on the similarities between the porn world and skating. Lot of crossover there.

Bobby seems different though. He’s been at this for a long time. I don’t know. I wasn’t necessarily a harmful person during these times. Just a weirdo I guess. I genuinely hope that he is just… I dunno? Doing numerology thought exercises? The stuff he posts (I haven’t followed him in a minute) falls just short of having a concluding sentence where he states the purpose, and generally, one someone asks him ‘what do you mean the Palestinian flag is 1:1 the four horsemen?’ He will respond with something like ‘well what do you think it means?’

The man also hated that he skated to that Van Morrison song, so I don’t know if we should be taking anything he says at face value.

I remember an interview with Aaron Herrington where I think he said Bobby put him on to some of that stuff while they worked together at a coffee shop. It seems more than anything like a past time that helps him exercise his neuroticism, and if he really is insane, then I don't think it's causing that much harm; but I have a relatively high tolerance for wacky conspiracy stuff (I live in an environment where people say some crazy things). Some of the people I see eating it up in the comments from time to time is more concerning. That kinda shtick attracts an audience which tends to be "anti-New World Order" and/or "anti-globalism", which more often than not just boils down to antisemtism and exaggerated bigotry. And the shit Bobby has said in the past in regards to Steve Brandi and stuff like that is inexcusable, though I think he's since deleted that comment. The guys' got some problems but I don't think it warrants revocation of his legend status; as a skater from Jersey and as a pioneer of a particular philosophy of skating.
