Genuine question, has there ever been a SOTY who didn’t get a cover that year? I can’t think of a single one.

If we're talking who's actually going to win, I'd be shocked if it's NOT someone on Element. I'm putting my money on Evan Smith, no problem.

• He's been giving content to Thrasher for years and has that "should-have-won-already" credos that plays into questionable victories

With that being said, if Supreme choose to throw Thrasher a bone for BLESSED, I could see Tyshawn giving Evan a run for his money.

I also fucking love the notion that this upcoming Transworld video will somehow play a factor in the SOTY decision.

I only know about it because of Skateline. It's not on youtube, it's for sunglasses and it's probably stuff that didn't cut it for Former but it's still pretty sick.

I think it's Evan Smith because Phelps is in lurv (and he's had great year) but I wish it was Mason because his skating is what got me most hyped and his Peace part is so damn good.

I have really been enjoying watching Franky skate this year and he has had a ton of footage. We still have one more Thrasher cover before the skater of the year cover as well.

I would have at least thrown Duffman into the mix for two full parts both released through Thrasher. He will definitely be featured in one of those 'Finalist' fake voting things on Thrasher.
I was kinda hoping Dickson would get something else going to get in the running but one part is just not enough these days. So, yeah, Glick probably.
If Evan Smith didn't get it in 2016, he shouldn't get it now. Then again, KOTR MVP, a Thrasher cover, and a full part in Peace might do it.

Agreed. I always enjoyed watching Evan in Street League, because he didn’t even make an attempt to win. He was just having fun and using the course in creative ways. His skating on KOTR was also pretty incredible, even though it was hard to root for Element over the other teams this year.
