Non-profit board company
« on: November 06, 2018, 05:02:29 PM »
A bunch of friends and I are contemplating the idea of creating a non-profit board brand.

The idea would be to a combined order for 100 decks from Bareback generator or something.
The intention wouldn't be to make money from them just for our own consumption and occasionally sell them for $20 to help out kids and homies at the skatepark.

The main driving force behind this is that we want to skate boards that haven't lost their pop without spending a fortune and we also think it would be a nice way to contribute to the skate community by selling boards for close to manufacturer's price.

Is there such a non profit around?

What are the restrictions to order from a woodshops? I see on the bareback website that they have a reseller verification process. Does anyone who have experience with this can explain that process involves?

What wood shop would you recommend for such model?

Have to register as a non profit, 501c blah blah, then go from there. You have to pay yearly and stay up to code with providing the community with something

They're pretty small.
They make great boards, the prices are decent I personally don't care for their standard street shape which most people use.

Would've been helpful to mention you're in Australia in the first place. Nobody presses over there? Might be worth it looking into China wood since you're fairly close.

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

ETM is that you ?!?!?!?

if it isnt you then heres my 2 Cents: Alot of Clans, Posses, Crews and Cliks have been doing this for a while now. The Wood Shops will even kick down a few sample decks to try n get your business. It sounds like a great idea but itll end up not making any Monies and evetually fade in the Sunset, Like Ole' Butch Cassidy 7 The Sun dance Kid.

its fun and all but getting them graphics on the decks is what gets expensive and people will just want a hook up and or expect a free deck.

I’d suggest looking into getting/making a press and press your own boards. You can buy molds or make one yourself. Test different stuff out, make it fun. I have only been buying boards from smaller wood shops or guys that press decks at home. They have seemed to have lasting pop compacted to a lot of big brands and woodshops.

Ask your local shop how they feel about you selling $20 boards at the park

OP, between your user name and your use of the word bareback throughout your post, I feel like this is a low-key invitation to anal sex.
