damn does vans really pay more than nb# and nike. if axel crysburg and Greyson have left corporate shoe brands for vans they're probably getting a better offer in terms of money and traveling -

also do vans/nike/nb#/cons/adidas give skaters health insurance?

I know Nike does, it's been discussed many a time, I'm willing to bet all the giants in the shoe industry do. No reason not to if they can afford it.

Going from Nike to Vans is just going from one corporate brand to another. Both are publicly traded (one under its own name, and the other under the conglomerate that owns it), regardless if one started off as running shoes for track teams and the other started as deck shoes really doesn't matter.

I doubt the highest paid guy on Nike or Adidas makes less than the highest paid guy on Vans, but I don't think Greyson Fletcher was a guy Nike viewed as a must keep. If they lost P-Rod, Nyjah, Ishod or Grant to Vans we could probably start questioning their payscale.

No announcement on or of. I'm not sure how they do that kind of thing, but it looks like Fletcher is flow currently. I don't think Fletcher is too old for a transition skater (or Kowalski for that matter), so I wonder why they would be slow playing this. I mean they just had the Van's Park finals didn't they? Maybe waiting for spring, but looks like he's been of Nike since July.

It's not that he's too old, it's that younger guys who skate and look differently are catching more attention. Big companies invested in him a few years ago, but other bowl/transition guys got more shine and contest wins and whatever else. Not everybody is the star of the movie and guys like Zion and Oski are killing it without looking like OC biker nazis skating to Slayer.

I feel like his career, and a lot of other tranny skaters, has been hurt quite much from P-Stone passing. His edits were the best at capturing the gnarlyness and unpredictability of tranny skating. As cool as the follow-cam is, it doesn't really portray what I love about this type of skating.
