I don't get this need for pros to place an emphasis on their hobbies outside of skating. I get that the point of this segment is to show a kind of glimpse into the life of the skater and their daily activities, and I get that they obviously have interests outside of skating, but c'mon having an instagram account to post the books you're reading is excessive. It's like there's an inherent insecurity that comes with being a professional skater to prove that you're 'more than just a skater,' which manifests into a belief that your outside interests are somehow groundbreaking when they're not.

Also he says back 5-0 back 180s aren't tasetful after doing a bluntslide to 5-0 lol...

if i had to guess who your fav skater is just going off how much you don't care whether pros are interesting in other ways besides being good at skateboarding, i'd say your favorite skater must be chris joslin

No, that's not what I'm getting at. There are plenty of pros that have cool interests - steve brandi being a professional tennis instructor, westgate's cranberry farm, kirchart's various trips, ocean howell is a history professor, etc. I'm not gonna elevate mark suciu for reading books like everyone else, and posting up every book you read is performative no matter who you are.

The book part was fine, but what is my guy going on about with the cockroach. Is Mark about to metamorphosize into a giant bug, mid-line after his final scoliosis grind? I saw this dude skate flat when I was in NY, and he did the wettest FS big heel in the history of skaters who can actually read (that list isn't long). I like Mark!
