I was skeptical as I've always been turned off but this guy's conspiracy theory stuff but it was an enjoyable episode and the dude seems way more level headed about that stuff than he used to be. Definitely came off more normal than I thought and was an entertaining guest.

So basically if you're avoiding it because you don't want to hear preaching about GMO for an hour and a half then don't worry. It was a good listen.

I gained respect for Spencer. When they brought up "Monsanto kills", he said something to the effect of: "everyone that agreed with me was seemed insane, and I started agreeing with the people that disagreed with me."

I enjoyed this a lot, those issues with his back sound terrible to skate with, so it makes sense he'd change whatever he can, including his diet to try to help it get better.

Sidenote, I met him when he worked at underworld and I was like 12-13 and he was super nice, sold me some circas and my first baggy dgk shirt, also saw him the next day skate the plaza and as a kid I was blown away, this was a couple weeks before supra came to Vancouver.

What do you mean he didn't endorse Jordan Peterson or straight carnivorism. You had to click off because he brought up how Jordan Peterson's daughter eats ground beef and fat and it seems like just a random anecdote plus crazy to a vegan? I thought I was velvety soft but damn.

I like when skaters talk about stuff other than skating. He basically back tracked on his simplistic view of GMO’s. Said he has no conspiracy theories that he’d bet on and gave a fairly nuanced overview of what autoimmune disease is and the medical and dietary interventions available to you. Something I have personal experience in. I don’t see how him having a serious health issue that deleted 4 years out of his prime isn’t a suitable topic for him to discuss.

On Jordan he just referenced his daughter was one of the few notable people trying the new carnivore diet but he was disappointed that she didn’t have any information that wasn’t anecdotal.

 I’ll just come out as an occasional joe rogan listner. Not really a fan of the joe rogan “brand” but he does have an amazingly diverse group of guests. He has such a large platform that legitimate leaders in there respective fields come on in a seemingly endless stream.

I was pleasantly surprised, i was expecting GMO preaching and a disillusion aging pro. He is a smart and very level headed guy who has defiantly been trying to grow as a human.
I back Joe Rogan, I have tried to not like him multiple times but he is just a good pod caster. I cheery pick the episodes that I listen to though.
When I first heard of Jordan Peterson I enjoyed his perspective on holding yourself accountable for your own actions and the situations you put yourself into. I don't like anything else about him, otherwise he's a kook.

You're wrong.  Peterson is terrible, as both an academic and a public intellectual.

EDIT: Joe Rogan tries to be an intellectual and doesn't actually interrogate any of the people who come on his podcast, which becomes dangerous when you invite people like Gavin McInnes on.  ckswank's clip is a great encapsulation of the limits of his knowledge which he just proclaims as fact without providing any context.  He doesn't push Gavin's claims on Iran when actually the reason they've become a theocracy is Western intervention and destabilization and while he pulls up a piece discussing the prevalence of consanguineous marriage in the Middle East, he doesn't do any digging or say he has to read more into this - he just takes the words and Gavin's interpretation and extrapolation of them as fact.
