It’s real fun. Still in development too so it’s only going to get better.

Hopefully comes to consoles sooner than later.

There's a multiplayer mod that was just released for the game. Animations for other players look weird but hopefully that'll be fixed soon. I still had fun trying it out though.

just got announced for switch coming out next year im glad i can finally unplug my ps3 for skate 3
also saw that its coming to xbox one at some point

I was just about to share this here. I haven't owned a Nintendo console in decades but I'd consider getting a Switch solely for Skater XL. I play it all the time on PC and now to be able to play it on the go is a dream come true.

If Skater XL hits Xbox One that’ll be a must-cop for me. I still play Skate 3 on pretty much a nightly basis and I’m sick of all the spots; I always just end up building skateparks on there and shit. Would be super refreshing to have some new spots, sound track, and new player customization options.

So this isn't coming to PS4? Only Xbox and Switch?

I don't want to buy a console only for this game. My friend has a PS4 he says he can give me or at least let me borrow for a while because I still want to play Red Dead Redemption, GTAV and I really want to (re)play the Shadow of the Colossus remake and The Last Guardian.

Is there any reason to buy xbox other than to play Skater XL? I don't have a ton of time or money to play games, but it is something I like to do on rain days.

Did they replace the New York map with the LA courthouse spot? The PlayStation article only said stuff about a west coast map. Kinda bummed if so. I’m still gonna buy it tho

session. is the one with the new york level. skater xl always had the courthouse since release and since last update that was what, half a year ago they have this one skatepark. session. has two indoor parks you can enter within the level or through the menu.

you can get custom levels modeled after new york for skater xl though afaik.

Really hope they'll have an open world map in the final release. Small maps and no getting off the board makes it feel like a mobile game.

what are the controls like in comparison to session? I got session and its almost unplayable. the rotations seem so random just doing a noseslide feels impossible. Is it easier and less glitchy if I don't use the legacy controls?

I'm sold on Skater XL after seeing these night clips starting around 3:15.
Also, the nollie bs flip at 1:15 looks almost real.

I had heard people saying that Skater XL has a great filming feature, but I hadn't seen anyone use it well.

Haven't had a chance to play skater XL in a while and never tried session.
Skater XL seems to have gone through a lot of updates in animations which is good, they're always tweaking how tricks look.
Session still looks better graphics wise but they still haven't changed much in terms of what turns me off the games. Grinds still lock in all stiff and the pushing/trick animations still look stiff and ugly. Doesn't make me want to play it at all.

I hope this gets released while I'm still "working from home" and can only spend about 1hour a day skating on the shitty asphalt/gravel driveway in the back of my apartment. Filling some time with simulated skating could help a lot with the boredom.

Wish I could still play skate 2
Stuck with 1 and 3 since they are the only ones backwards compatible with xbox1.
Like the look of session but honestly I’ll give both a shot
