As someone that was involved with True Love Collective all I have to say is “ouch”. TLC and the guy that owned it did some really shady shit. You also have to be a real blockhead to leave your camera gear in that parking lot unattended

That dude ran through the industry and burned A LOT of people, me included.  and had the balls to come up to me all friendly like, when he was working for Satori, KNOWING that he burned my shop for $300 years earlier.  Then he was working at Deluxe and I hit up Jim to let him know this dude (james joiner??) burned me, Todd Bratrud, and NUMEROUS others over time.  He was stealing accts. CC #s and doing all kinds of fucked up stuff.  Dude finally squared up with me, he's lucky he didn't get his ass beat.

I passed it on to Sally V. that he was doing the same shit and stole stuff when working at Deluxe. That just added to his reasons for being run out of SF. He also painted those pyramid ledge things people used to skate for a Satori contest and the school tore them out after. Last I heard of him he got caught in a sting operation where he was shipping/having drugs shipped to him through the mail

Wow, I'm surprised you mentioned this. That strip haunted me for a long time as a kid, it was so out of left field and disturbing. It wasn't funny and it definitely didn't fit in with any of the other strips. I actually still look at it occasionally as a kind of weird inspiration.

I was a huge Garfield fan as a kid and that strip really shook me. I (hopefully still) have a response letter from Jim Davis after I sent him my drawing of Garfield when I was 5 where he told me I was not a very good artist.
