Are hard plastic risers better or soft rubbery ones
« on: September 29, 2018, 01:47:02 PM »
I always skate risers on 53mm wheels because i ride my trucks extremely loose and dont wanna risk wheel bites the ones i'm riding are solid plastic ones would it help if i change into soft ones? which is better for jumping down stairs? do rubbery ones help with absorbing impact or it doesn't matter?

doesn’t matter too much, honestly. rubber risers will dampen vibrations a tiny bit but not enough that it’ll make or break anything. use whatever.

you got to tighten down the rubber pads so much or your trucks just hanging there they dont work

Hard plastic. Soft risers are a silly gimmick.

Soft rubbery "risers" arent risers, they're shock pads. Risers are made of hard plastic designed simply to raise your deck height. Shock pads are used to absorb impact (though i stopped using them cuz from my experience they bounce the force rather than absorb) and help smoothen the ride. However, shock pads reduce your speed a little bit.
