i feel like alien is stuck in a hard place. if they rely too much on old style alien stuff (dino jr, super 8, etc), they get accused of ripping it off. if they try something new, it's not what people want.

I'm a fan of this kid, I'm a fan of anyone who does proper over-the-back b/s noseblunts. 180 switch crook over the Flushing grate was also nice, he's got great taste in trick selection. He's really good but he's not doing anything fucking insane or never seen before, and I think that's what companies like Alien and Girl and Zero and the now-older brands need in order to still stand out.

The weird thing about this was the editing at the beginning. Felt like I was watching the beginning of a Nickelodeon show. Remember that cool skit in Photo where the kid's watching TV? They should do something like that instead. I still remember in Bunker Down how the Honda Element was so prominent at the beginning and it really bummed me out.

I hate to say it but this dude is boring. Yaje and Joey are infinitely more interesting to watch. I also have to agree that Castrucci has lost his touch, but I thought that a long time ago. Nobody has really replicated the old Alien videos either besides maybe Benny Maglinao. His Life Splicing edits and the Cinematographer Project were so good.

Boy does slap get some shit wrong. That part was fucked, and Frankie fucking goes. That kid fits alien so well, I think the thing that made alien so special in its heydays(late 90s to rob and big, rob and big to mindfield, mindfield to collapse), was that the dudes on that team were unique, but not in like a very unusual way, like usually very polished tricks. Alien was always more clean styles then habitat. This kid does his shit proper on crusty ass shit, someone saying miles silvas in a way ain’t off. Also the frontside heelflip over the bar near the end was absolutely fucked.

This wasn't bad at all. While he's not the prettiest he definitely doesn't have one of the worst styles of all time either. Good fs and bs flips.

As to the edit, I agree that the intro was embarrassing, but the rest worked fairly well for me.
