Eman rips! I remember watching his Transworld Part a lot before skating as a kid.

https://youtu.be/55fJRif5qfk

Documentary was a good watch. It's pretty remarkable to see how mature his style already looks in some of those older clips.

So what was his deal that warranted a full documentary? It seems like once Circa folded, he dropped off the map.

He def still around - I think that kick flip tail drop into that crusty hill was on quarter snacks top 10 when he did it not too long ago and he j had some good clips in that Santa Cruz x creature tour thing. He’s a home town hero / known good guy around Santa Cruz where I grew up so I feel it was to give him props for being such a solid skater / dad / person that as you said for most of the world hasent really been in the spot light too much but still kills it .
He’s super loyal to Santa Cruz but I wonder if his career would have been much better somewhere else , he has great style for the most part and solid tricks on transition and street , I feel like if he was on a dlx brand or something that has aged better like that  he would be seen more as a legend to a wider audience .
pull over before you crash for thinking this was just another mixtape.

Yeah, I realize my comment sounded way more harsh than I meant it. I meant it more that he seemed to just drop off and did he have some crazy life issues that drove that and they’ve just been under wraps until now. Having it be more a general retrospective on him as a Santa Cruz brand and area legend, that’s fine too. He just wasn’t top of mind for who I’d expect to get this treatment.

santa cruz makes these pieces for all their riders; it seems like its part of a wider strategy where they're trying to be a youtube/social media driven skateboarding company. like a semi-core version of revive. can't blame them

Do any of you remember a video of him skating a park in, I want to say, Montana? The part was set to Native American singing/chanting. I think it was Strange Notes.

I thought it was so fitting cause he kinda has that look. Surprised he is half Jewish. Pretty interesting background.

He’d come through derby, skate up the snake run do a 100mph nose blunt slide then do it again but blast a huge air on the hip then leave. Strubing used to do the same thing. It was such a treat every time.

Someone on here used to have the gif of his 2nd to last trick in prevent this tragedy as their sig and I would get
Lost in it.

Good to know more about Guzman and I'm glad he's doing well. He fucking rips, always has - ATV destroyer. There's not too many out there like him. And I'm sure he's influenced a ton of other pros. Even Alex Olson said that EG's Guarte part was a big influence on his skating.

I was hoping to see some martial arts footage of his dad. His mom seems like a wonderful woman.

He's been pretty outspoken as well which is cool. He had a Big Brother interview back in the day where he was saying Andy Roy was looking tore up out on the streets, then Jay Adams wrote a letter (which BB published) trying to admonish Guzman for what he said.

It was cool when he joined Slap for a little bit (https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=51880.msg1748135#msg1748135). Down to earth for sure.

You know he's good when John Cardiel cited him in his top 5 list of skaters of some sorts (forgot which interview).

eman is so sick, was one of my favorites for quite a while. he was one of the reasons i loved the strange notes dvds. there was always some eman in it. dude is all terrain machine with classic style in the vein of stranger to me. way underrated, probably because he hasn't had the coolest sponsors in santa cruz and c1rca imo. if he was on ah and vans or nike, i think his legacy status may have remained higher i guess, which sucks.
