Went with my girlfriend and the dog to an abandoned hotel not far from where i live, me and a friend found a marble slab not far from there and dragged it over a few weeks ago and its been treating me well keeping my distance from people and skating a bit.

damn I hadn't been in this thread for a long time and the average level of skating is pretty fucking impressive....anyways I wanted to celebrate my new pal status by posting some actual skating, even though the closer I get to 50, the worse I get on the board.... So here's a mini-wallride that took me at least 10 tries. Sucks getting old! The good side of that is seeing my son practicing ollies in the background.

I don't care how good you are but I have mad respect for people that are still skating at your age. All that matters is that you're having fun which it looks like you are.

thanks man! I'm actually just 46, but a bit traumatized by now being closer to 50 than 40....

The main thing when you get older with skating I think, is enjoying the little things. And accepting you can't do what you used to do. Cause I'm no Daewon or Tony Hawk, or like some other guys still skating strong in their 40s. My knees are fucked after 4 or 5 surgeries and I lost pretty much all my bag of tricks. But a powerslide, a manual or an ollie while cruising around are basically enough for me to have fun!

I appreciate your sacrifice. Having so much free time and not doing being able to use it to skate is the worse. I've only been skating Saturday and Sunday at 8 am. The parks and DIY are still empty at that time. I've been seeing locals online drinking and having cookouts and shit at the park. It's disappointing they're not taking social distancing seriously.
