A couple of tricks at "The Wall" in Baton Rouge:
The rubber thing on the Wall is there because bike pegs have gouged out the corner. It's fucked up because I distinctly remember skating this since I was at least 12, and the corners didn't start to get fucked until I was in my mid 20's when street/freestyle bikes started getting popular (even though skaters had hit the corners for years). Not all, but a lot of those dudes destroyed some legendary downtown ledges, too. I don't hate BMX but One ledge in particular really stands out... it used to have so much truck metal ground in that it felt like coping, and it was slick as fuck... it was like Pier 7 in the respect that it went form a ledge to an elevated curb (you could grind over two low but long-ish steps going either up or down). Fucking thing looks like it's been jackhammered now.
Sorry for the ramble, it's just that I grew up skating in BR, now I work in BR, and unlike a lot of major cities, Baton Rouge is pretty good about keeping classic skatespots. I've always compared the Centroplex in BR to the old EMB... but the only changes they ever made to Centro were the addition of some benches and a sculpture with a grindable ledge at its base. Oh yeah, this footy is the first I have since turning 34, shuffle shuffle.
