Here's my new go to curb. It is a rare specimen of a lacquered curb in Switzerland, plus it's only a few minutes from where I live AND it has a lamp directly above it. I can only skate it on Sundays but I am not going to complain. The cracks look gnarly but I rarely hang up on those...

Zumikon represent! Thumbs up.

mine at my house. It's too rounded and the dip from asphalt to concrete isn't the best.

Still looks fun tho. Been showing my curb some love this week after neglecting for a couple weeks. Hit it with a couple coats of lacquer

Looks like a rad spot. I don't have a curb at my place. Wish I did. It's a damned slope.

thanks guys, it's definitely fun for me. Usually I'm just there hitting it while my 5yr old son tries to figure it out too. I'm definitely lucky that theres at least two other way better slappy spots within walking distance from my house. The radius on my curb makes it pretty impossible to lock into anything, but one of the spots near me all of their curbs are trapezoid shaped. No vertical face, perfect angle, thick yellow paint that grinds and slides with no wax needed.

Skating trucks that fit over both sides really makes me appreciate the work put in to make it sound like that

Looks like all the curbs here in the Midwest. I can’t think of a single curb in my area that isn’t rounded like that. Grinds definitely don’t lock in but nose and tailslides are still butter. I’m still envious of having a spot right in front of the house. If my wife ever talks me into moving a nice curb out front is a must.

I just imagined you talking to a real estate salesperson.

They: The apartment is spacious, great views and a nice front lawn…
You: How about the curbs in front of the house and close vicinity, are they rounded? Got lacquered ones? A double sided curb might win me over…

Realistically I could eliminate houses with a simple google maps street view search so I might not have to have that weird conversation. If I have my way I’ll never have to move anyhow despite the constant nudging of my wife. We have been in our house for 7 and a half years and have a good interest rate. Anywhere else we would move would be way more expensive.

Can't get enough of this curb at the local DMV. It's been my new Sunday spot since i found it. Just got this slappy flatbar also to bring along to the spot. Curb is chunky but painted so it's the best of both worlds. Ground is perfectly paved and smooth. Filmed by my daughter.

Been running this spot hard on lunch sessions with my homie. Two of these little island things, with a long flat curb on the back edge of the lot, and a big (Recently painted) curved curb closer to the building. Definitely the best slappys ive found around my way

is this in northern Virginia? Looks like a parking lot near my parents' house

Right down the street from my house. On a perfect hill too.

Two minute skate downhill from my place. There's five of these in a row. One has huge chunks missing from skate stopper removal. One other is cut into three chunks. The other three planters are perfect like this one.

Just curious since I may have inadvertently said a curb was taken out. Was the curb you used to hit at CSUC at the new geology building? If so it’s still there and going strong.

Spot rarely gets hit as it's a carpark that somehow manages to be damp 99% of the time. few months back:

Went to skate yesterday, started snowing on the way into town so headed to that curb instead. In the biggest plot twist of all time the carpark was somehow dry, then we get to the actual curb and it looks like fucking jackson pollock turned it into a canvas.

Regardless, still managed to have a good session. Somehow had fs slappies dialled which is odd considering the last time I tried them was 3 months ago at the same spot and could barely manage 1/10 of them, then lastnight they just worked and felt fluid.

anyone else live in midwest hell where all new construction of curbs are made with that brushed texture and the concrete itself is 'chalky' and feels super soft? theres so much new construction with would-be sick spots but i need a god damn respirator, 3 rub bricks and a gallon of coating to make these things work /rant
