That’s a small world if it really is

Skateboarding is a small world. I'm also the guy that called the nine club and asked Roger about invoicing

Nice to meet you Paco

Made this with a mate awhile back. Our first time making one was a good learning experience. We‘ve left it down at another curb we skate weekly. Good fun. Orange undercoat and black oil base on top as well as a coat of lacquer. Looks a little rough on the side but holding up well and has been skated weekly for 4-5 months now.

here is a curb pattern if anyone wants it. just download it/open it in word. you can play around with the sides and adjust the size to play with the angle

Nah we didn’t we just sprayed the form with lacquer before pouring the Crete. Unsure if it did anything but it slid right out.

Modern life is war is correct it’s a 1968 HB Holden Torana running a modern 3.8ltr v6 and a bunch of other things.

My curb is allllll fucky now from the winter. I think I need to scrape off the old wax and hit it with more lacquer because it does not want to slide.

i have a spot that someone waxed but never bricked or lacquered. just caked on wax. it grinds but it would be way better if prepped properly. i think i am going to just use a rock to get the old wax off.
Get a little handheld butane torch and melt that shit.  $5, curb lovers best friend.  I keep one in my curb box, with a rub brick & wax.

Angled curbs are pretty hard to find in my neck of the woods so coming across this spot was quite a find.
First pics are after rub bricking.

These are after lacquer, wax, and first session.

Get hungry on it!

Has anyone ever had issues with the cops when rub bricking a spot?

Was getting a new curb going at my usual spot tonight and I was taking turns between skating and rub bricking it. Skate for a few mins, rub for a few mins. In one of the periods where I was skating the cops rolled through the car park. Didn't stop, just rolled through. Not sure if someone called them or they were just coincidentally driving through but not sure what they would have done if I was rub bricking when they came through.

@Gene_Harrogate that looks like a perfectly angled curb. The ground looks a little rough, not sure if it's just the pics though... I'm wondering if it would be possible to fix crusty asphalt by mixing straight portland cement and water and then just wiping it into the asphalt with a sponge. Anyone ever tried that? It would definitely discolor the concrete and be very obvious but might work to fix the crust a little

Yeah it really is, right at about 5.5" high.  The ground is definitely on the crusty side but manageable if I keep to a certain path.

I got the other side of my usual spot rub bricked and waxed. Feels almost too nice right now, it goes so well that I think I need a big session on it to break it in so it actually feels like I'm grinding on it

I have one of these at home

Think it’s overkill? And is it really as simple as melting old wax and wiping it off?

Here's a couple of oldish clips at my favorite curb spot in town. There's actually a bunch of other curbs here too, some lower ones, a taller one or two, and these two perfect long ones that are dug out. But this green one in specific is my favorite. Perfect height, long and slick, and you can hit it both ways. Going to miss this spot once I move soon </3

This red curb at the mall is basically perfect, I think I’ve posted it before. There is security patrol but it’s not much of a bust before the mall opens at 10am
