Fuck, these fucking cults stole Koston, Sacha Tushev and now, my favorite skater....
[close]

Wait, what cult is Koston in?

It's been said that he reports to David Miscavige these days. Not sure if that's confirmed or not though.

Your guess is as good as mine. I think some folks here said it was all the same ledges. I didn't trust my memory so I went and rewatched the part. It's really fucking good. Maybe it doesn't have the same impact as those first couple parts but he is definitely ripping.

My homie is Sikh and he's cool as hell. Everybody needs to calm down and watch PJ's TriColor part if you haven't already.

He didn't

technically speaking, allen's correct - he didn't. his tricolor part came out august 2017. that being said...

I didn't trust my memory so I went and rewatched the part. It's really fucking good.

you aren't lying. the music selection [http://www.dholfoundation.com/4.html] now makes a bit more sense. starts at 16:06 for anybody looking for a refresher.

also...

I also #alexmidler when I take a selfie with PJ after being blessed by the oracle..... just kidding I do vinyasa like a real G and tag AO

damn, that's hilarious. can't believe i missed that. with midler's connections to the berrics, i would have figured he'd be more dianetically inclined.

I forgot 2019 existed. I was debating 2018 or 2017. Also I’m drinking whiskey.

Anyway, PJ is a hermit, but he does have 3 great parts. It’s not like he’s a one hit wonder. He’s a legend and still having a solid career.

You guys want PJ to have not left his soul in Boston in 2002 so badly that you’re acting like (most of) Really Sorry and Tricolor were anything but bland, flavorless skating.

His éSpecial part is ~1 minute of brilliance though, surprisingly.

Who cares how long he is able to skate if we don't get to see any of it

I do.  I find the idea even more romantic if hes animal pube beard of on his own just skating .

Absolutely

Quote from: I sniff my own butthole all the time
2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

I like how he's wearing 'eS for the majority of this DC footage but it was too low quality for anyone to really notice

As long as we're throwing out footage and parts whyn't I plop this one in the mix. Last two tricks hinted at the standard everyone expected him to exceed:

The control on the fakie flip over the hip and the foot adjustment on the last trick were supernatural.

I thought that Indian drum song he used was sick and matched really well with his tricks, yoga seems like a pretty cool thing to be into and some of those old hindu scriptures are really wild, good for him

So much agree.
Supernatural is the most appropriate word for the foot adjustment / balance in that. Gobsmacked
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Compared to a lot of "legendary" pros there's a lot of PJ footage out there, he's definitely not milking it. It's also easy to appear bland when taking PJHWL as a reference.

Awesome title for the thread. I think most people agree that Pj’s WHL part is one of the greatest parts of all time. Kinda crazy to have that as your debut part because I don’t think he could’ve ever topped it. But he didn’t need to. He made a great contribution to skating and gets to float of that for a lifetime I think.

Happens to people who have prolific debuts all the time. Musicians etc. WHL is Illmatic. Nas dropped plenty more great albums but some will always just say it’s not as good as Illmatic.

Just rewatched his Tricolor part again and it's indeed still fucking sick, crazy how insanely good people can be yet people still find ways to talk shit (I remember people saying they were let down by that part), his style makes all the tech super watchable (which I find rare) and his trick selection is full of taste, he doesn't just do complicated ledge tricks, he does the good kind of them in lines with flow and his determined landings still get me. Sure he's not hauling ass through Boston crust anymore for a VX shop video, I miss that PJ too but his WHL part wouldn't be as unique if he just replicated it, he's clearly moved on from that phase that was close to twenty years ago already now, (unfortunately) people should have stopped being delusional by expecting something as innocent and pure as soon as Really Sorry dropped, we're lucky we even got to get WHL.
