the thing that bothers me the most about this is the mentality of
“Let’s get him fired”

As opposed to the "Let's dox and try to get fired anyone who we don't agree with" on the opposing side I've seen time and time again?  Seems that there's shitloads of retardation on either side of the aisle, but man, if you're a grown dude and a teenager's hat makes you lose your shit, you're pretty much unfit to be out in public.

Politics are so fucking gay at this point, they've rendered half the nation mentally handicapped in their ability to live normally and not fly the fuck off the handle over shit that ten years ago they wouldn't have cared about one bit.

Just like a lot of you, I hate that hat, who and what it stands for, and I think a lot of people who voted for him are idiots.

I'm not going to waste my breath bitching someone out because they wear his shit. If that's the kind of kooks they want to come off as, so be it.

Have you ever tried agruing with an idiot? It's like talking to a brick wall. One side of the argument will be one-sided. The people that wear that bullshit have already been lost to me as soon as they fell for his shit and voted him in.

If you really want to do something about it. Stop bitching on a forum and get out and vote someone else in next year. That will make a difference, not all this.

I don’t care what anyone says, a tit mouse’s tibia is a thing of beauty.

Should've just refused service. Isn't it a thing that stores can do, just casually not allow them. That being said the whole discretely talking shit by offering more tasteful hats would've been the best way to go.

Modern liberal/leftist/socialist/communist types are so "inclusive" and "diverse" and all of those things that they can't help but start throwing fits and screaming at anyone who differs from their beliefs.

Mental illness at its finest.

we meet racist assholes with the same kind of inclusion and "tolerance" that they show others. Fuck MAGA and fuck you if you support that bullshit.

That only files if you're either:

A) the general manager with authority to do so, or
B) the owner

Believe me, if you're just an average salesguy and you say "We refuse to serve you", you're almost certainly going to lose your job anyway.  And, it'll still end up on the internet and possibly the news somewhere just as it does now.  Nobody accepts that line any longer, and nobody will ever just let shit go now.  The box has been opened and it's unlikely to be closed during any of our lifetimes.  Once a bunch of idiots decided to make all of this a "thing" to turn the sort of skirmishes that used to just have you taking your business elsewhere to where now, someone has to fry for offending/being offended, it took hold and has become the standard - either be annoyed dealing with me and hold your emotions in check, or, get yourself fired.

Vans isn't going to specifically alienate either side when money is involved.

The right are the first to claim being discriminated against for their beliefs but then when they are harassing or intimidating people they are just expressing their right to freedom of speech.

They are the bully that consistently plays the victim card.

A Vans spokesperson said in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle that the company’s “primary focus is to provide the best customer service experience.” The statement continued, “The actions and comments from one employee in our Oak Park location are in contrast with our company’s values and belief in personal expression.”

Oh, come on, man.  I know plenty of people on both sides of the aisle who are super-fired up about whatever they believe in, and if you actually are dumb enough to drink the Kool-Aid and paint everyone who you don't agree with as whatever your preferred media is telling you, then you're a part of the reason people are this fucking dumb now.  I know just as many self-identified liberals who kick and scream about being victims every time they shoot off their mouths and get smacked down for saying truly stupid stuff while claiming it's their "right of free speech" while simultaneously decrying everything that someone else says that makes them remotely upset.  This lame mentality infects both sides, not just one.  And whichever side you're on, if you think this way, you've failed at life.

I tell the same thing to my conservative friends/family who rant about "those raving liberal nutjobs", saying that their shitty divisive politics are just going to fan the flames for more of this because they're swallowing the same shit that those on the other side are.  Stop making your politics jockish us-vs-them team sports stuff, it's tired as fuck and just goes to show you're honestly a piece of what's making this nation suck more every year.

Or, you could just go to your favorite echo chamber of single ideas and keep on believing that we're all so radically different that we just can't get along ever again.  It's your dime and your time, man, spend it wisely.

While I do not agree with Trump's rhetoric or policies, when you're working retail your personal feelings take the back seat. This guy might as well have asked a Jew to take off his Kippah. That's the beauty of America, people can wear what they want and we are all entitled to any opinion we want to have. But if you're gonna insult a customer or a child and get worked up over a lame ass hat you shouldn't be working on a sales floor. But I don't think he should have been fired, his manager should've gave him a stern talk and then everyone moves on with their lives. The mom kinda blew things out of proportion.

I forget how mall friendly Vans is...…..and then I remember who shops at malls...….so this makes sense.

Bad PR for Vans and their anti-MAGA customer base.

a lot of those people voted for Obama in 2008 , the man has 52% approval rating so you are saying the majority of the country are racist are all of a sudden racist in 2019 jsyk

Bull shit.

Aggregate polls have him at 41.8 approval and 53.8 disapproval right now.  One Rasmussen poll had him at 50%, but it's Rasmussen and they skew heavily Republican due to methodology.  Even the latest FOX News one has him at 46% approval / 50% disapproval.  Man is disliked.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_approval_rating
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html

At 760 days into his Presidency, he has yet to have ONE day where his approval rating was higher than his disapproval rating.    The day that Rasumssen poll came out he had three others that were all around 42-44%.

Zero fucking days of approval.

Well phrased.

Making American Great Again does not mean a person being superior to another by race, skin, or class. It means making this country return to its constitutional roots and phasing out legalese plunder that has been impoverishing our people and making it "illegal" to defend our life, liberty, and property. "The Law, perverted."

Here is Frederic Bastiat's "The Law," free to read, one of the greatest explanations of all time of what law is, and how it is corrupted:

https://mises.org/library/law

It is ironic/funny that the man who made the slogan does not fully understand what it means, or even if he does, cannot change our course to making America actually great again.

(and I dislike the modern left for accelerating our demise)

You don't have to be American to have really dumb and divisive ideas, I'd say that's a global problem, just that we put our bullshit on display for everyone else to see while elsewhere, most just put their embarrassing shit out of sight.

I'd find all of this much more amusing if people weren't getting to where shit's going to get more and more physical in the future.  I don't doubt that there are going to be assaults/retaliations/repeat over and over in the coming year at the rate we're headed that'll be plaguing both sides.  I'd rather Americans just got their shit together, rejected the shit the government, the media and entertainers shit out of their mouths daily, and just live like decent people as we seemed to be able to do for a long time.  Sure would be nice, but I've probably already lived through the last decent days our nation has had.  I just feel bad for those who are young enough to have to suffer through what's ahead.

personally I don’t think the hat just screams racism, it screams stupidity, and yes racism is a form of stupidity. Like stupidity is the supertype when it comes to that specific hat. Obviously more non white people will just associate it with racism, but like if u aren’t white u really should tune in to the stupidity of all the non racist shit too, it’s dumb as fuck. What I’m saying is the hat represents stupidity to me far more then it does racism because I’ve met far too many republicans who are absolute idiots, but don’t have a hateful heart.

Yeah, that employee is an idiot. Even if you hate Trump, it's not a very smart thing to say "Fuck you" to a customer just because they are wearing a MAGA hat. He would have been better suited talking shit behind the customer's back with his coworkers, but that makes too much sense. Either way, I don't feel bad for the employee at all. As for the kid, he's 14, just let him wear the stupid hat.
