Does anyone know what happened to the Arto Saari episodes of Epicly Later'd? They got pulled from YouTube, and the video player was removed from the VICE site. I tried reaching out to VICE, Patrick O'Dell, and Arto but could not get a response from anyone. Arto's was one of my favorites. I've probably re-watched those 5-6 times already. Any info would be much appreciated.

I think they are supposed to play the originals on the viceland channel, so maybe having the eps on YouTube would take away the need to watch it on tv.

That blows, the Arto one was really good. I used to go to VBS.TV and be able to watch all of them, but that site got absorbed into Vice.com which has links to all the epicly laterd episodes but when you click on the video player it says Invalid Authorization Response. They need to fix that shit. But really, what else would you expect from Vice.

Arto has a 6 parter that is close to an hour long if not longer. I think it was from like 2012, the 5th season. Top notch shit.

Yes, there was definitely an Arto episode. It was great. Talked about coming to the US not knowing any English, living the straight-edge vegan lifestyle with Geoff and Templeton, Shane's death, his stint with Alien, his foray into photography, etc. It's a gem for sure.

My guess is that it has something to do with the fact that his episodes had a “presented by Oakley” ad at the beginning. That was the only thing that separated his from the rest if I am not mistaken.

I was wondering the same thing. Tried to go back and watch it about a year or two ago and it wasn’t there. Wonder if it had something to do with copyright infringement in the episode because all of the other old ones are still watchable. Definitely was one of the best ones though, it’s a bummer.

i’ve been looking for these for years, they’re fucking completely wiped from the internet. it’s nearly impossible to make something disappear from the internet like this, it’s actually impressive.

they were wiped before viceland was around. i was told arto had them taken down because apparently artos super bummed about ever being on the workshop, and there’s a whole episode about him leaving flip and his mindfield part.

I know, right?! It's amazing that it's just gone.

Do you have a source for him talking about being bummed on his Workshop days? I find it hard to believe that it was taken down just for that. There wasn't anything inflammatory in there. It's just something that happened in his past, and they even highlighted the fact that returning to Flip was his redemption song and what he was always meant to do.

Vice has so much potential. But it’s just an unorganized mess of content. Especially here in Canada. It’s a huge let down. I’d be all over that shit if it was all under one roof & easy to navigate ... navigation that actually sends you to working content.

This is an intriguing thread. I actually contacted O'Dell many years ago about a clip on Vice I couldn't find, and he said that he's heard of whole episodes going missing and he wouldn't know where it is. Seems like it's common for Vice, which sucks.

This one was really good, re-watched it again this time last year. Had something about Ed telling him he's Finnish and destined for the beer/cigs that he abstained from for years because of his heart problems, and it also had a healthy amount of references to Penny as well.

I've looked for the arto episode a few times over the past couple of years. For sure one of the better ones, with lots of Rowley and Templeton when they were all still rad.

At least the Behind the French Fred Scenes videos are still available. So, so sick.

i messaged o’dell on instagram earlier this year asking if there would be any new episodes coming. he replied “idk” i told him that i enjoyed the first season on vice tv and how it seemed odd to me that they did the whole first televised season the year before last but then, 2018 came and there was unfortunately not a second season to follow it up. he just replied with a crying emoji. i guess it’s safe to say that there will not be any more epicly later’d episodes coming our way and, that’s a real bummer for me.
